An interesting follow-up article, arguing for a proper re-construction of the Cutty Sark, not as a museum (in the form of a ship), but as a fully functional vessel, in order to allow people to experience the impact of this unique historical engineering feat in as close to its original use and context as possible.
Apertum flower (Orchidaceae) releases raspberry ketone (RK) in its fragrance, which attracts males of several fruit fly species belonging to the genus Bactrocera. Besides RK as a major component, the flower contains smaller amounts of 4-(4-hydroxylphenyl)-2-butanol, plus two minor volatile components, veratryl alcohol and vanillyl alcohol.
